Holy Spirit – Pentecost Sunday

As I meditated upon what the apostle Paul said, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38, NIV), I thank God for forgiving me as I repent my sins through faith and how I have been sanctified by the presence of the Holy Spirit who dwells within my life.

Truly, I read how the early apostles had received the teaching of God’s Word found in the Scriptural doctrine remembering the breaking of the bread that accompanies along with prayer and fellowship (Acts 2:40-41, NIV). As such, this prompts me to pray for empowerment of the Holy Spirit to help me become effective witness for Christ to pre-believers today.

Do you want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit as you become effective witness for Christ to others?

Affirming praises to God for a Mother

As I meditated upon how Solomon said, “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30b, NIV), I am being reminded of how a God–fearing woman is to be praised by her children and her husband, yet a mother is very encouraged if her children stand up and say, “God bless you, Mom, for being such a blessing to us.” In response, she will smile to hear her husband say, “I love you. Other women might do good things, but you're the best!”

Truly, I see how the highest praise that any woman can receive is praise from God just as the apostle Peter said, “The unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight” (1 Peter 3:4, NIV) as I did my weekend’s reading..

Mothers, do rejoice in the praise that comes from God.

Husbands and children, let’s praise God for Mom, and praise Mom in a way that echoes God’s own praise of her.
