Where Is God?

Notice:
On 5th June, your Pentecost Sunday's article will be posted up from 3.00pm onwards.

As I meditated upon what the Psalmist said, “Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long” (Psalm 74:22, NIV), I noted how the wicked had constantly reproached God through their language and their conduct which seems foolish in the sight of God. As such, this prompts me to have a real reproach to God that reflects Jesus in my honour to the world today. Indeed, I read how Dr. M. Scott Peck said how “Life is difficult” and that “this is a great truth because once we truly see this truth we transcend it” as he highlighted this point inside the Every Day Light online devotional text. By this, I see how calamities and suffering occur will never be fully solved while we are here on earth as Mick Brooks also pointed out inside the online devotional text.

By this, I read how the psalmist concluded about how God has been the strength of his heart and his portion forever that he made the Sovereign Lord as his refuge whom he could speak of His wondrous deeds that He had done, amidst of his struggles to see the wickedness and pride of the people where they speak of their arrogance towards God (Psalms 73:27–28, 2–11, NIV).

Hence, this encourages me to wait for God to speak to my spirit as He’s my strength of my heart and my portion forever as I take refuge in the Sovereign Lord whom I could speak of His wondrous deeds that He had done through my life today.

Is God your strength and portion today?

As I meditated upon what Jesus said to Mary, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home” (John 19:26b –27, NIV), I am being reminded of how the mother of Jesus became part of the household of the disciple John, and how she also became a “mother” to John and took care of him. Indeed, Jesus made sure that this relationship of mutual adoption framed their future even as he paid the ultimate price for all our sins.

Today, I give thanks to God for mothers who do take good care of us – they feed us, they clothe us and they love us. On top of that, they are related to the same believing faith as we do. I love my mother, what about you today?

Truly, we’re to love our mothers and to one another just as Christ have loved us (John 13:35, NIV).

Jesus, enable us to express our love, hospitality, and generosity to mothers and to others just as you love us.
