FAMILY ALTAR – Family Sanctification

Notice:
On 15th April, your Good Friday's article will be posted up from 3.00pm onwards.

As I meditated upon what the Scriptures said, “Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household” (Exodus 12:3, NKJV), I considered how every household had their own lamb as they celebrated the Feast as a family during the Passover feast. Indeed, I saw how the Israelites had their family life and faith closely tied together where they worshipped God, discussed spiritual matters, and prayed together, maintaining a family altar in the privacy of their homes.

Hence, this encourages me to build a family altar among extended families – my parents & relatives + siblings + cousins as our young children need their parents to model for them to believing in God knowing what entails for them, what to pray, how to persist in prayer and see God coming through for the family through our life’s struggles.

Truly, I pray for our faith to be strengthened through studying God’s Word where strong families are built at the family altar and how the family that prays together will stay together and how this devotional encourages me in my reading today.

Are you building your family altar today?
