Be the Light to the World

In my Advent’s meditation, I am being reminded of how the apostle John spoke about a great “light“ that came into the world that very first Christmas through Jesus as He shone His Light through the darkness as the Scripture said, “The light shines” (John 1:5a, NIV) and this was the “Light of life” (John 1:4, NIV). Indeed, this prompts me to shine Christ‘s light to others in this world as I live a Christlike life while knowing that Jesus is the Light (John 1:8, NIV).

Truly, Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14–16, NIV).

Today, I want to let the light of Christ to shine through my life to people surrounding me and beyond me this Christmas season’s celebrations as the song lyrics goes like this, “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, everyday, everyday, everyday in every way, I’m gonna let my little light shine” (Love To Sing @ Fox Film Music Corporation, Homeland Publishing).

Do you reflect Christ’s light to those around you today?
